Bright lights, busy traffic, tall buildings making you feel tiny in a city of experience and inspiration. A trendsetter in fashion, arts and so much more. This beguiling city, one of the most visited cities in the world.

When we first arrived in New York we took a sightseeing tour through the city. We saw many unique buildings, from designer shops to the Trump Tower. Once off the coach, we wandered through the impressive metropolitan trying to fit in as true New Yorker, yet failing due to the amount of tourist photos we were taking! Our last stop on our tour was a spot which gave as a perfect view of Ellis Island.
We then took a trip to The Metropolitan Museum of Art, one of the worlds largest and most visited museums in the world, which holds more than two million individual objects from paintings to artefacts. We spent several hours here, especially admiring the modern artwork.
As we walked back through the city, we walked through Central Park, one of my favourite parts of New York. Manhattan’s iconic 843-acre urban stretch was built due to early 1800 elitist New Yorkers feeling that their city needed some recreational parkland. Prominent American landscape architect Frederick Law Olmsted and British-American architect Calvert Vaux announced that their creation would be a development intended for all New Yorkers. We took photos next to the Alice in Wonderland statue and walked along where Gossip Girl was filmed.
In the evening we walked through buzzing Times Square to get to the theatre to watch King Kong. The show was immensely clever and featured King Kong as a giant robot.
The next day we took the ferry to Ellis Island to see the famous 151ft-tall Statue of Liberty. Lady Liberty was built as a monument to the Republican principles shared by France and USA, still represents ideals of freedom today.
In the afternoon we visited the 9/11 memorial, which is an experience I will never forget. The silence as the water falls is breath taking and emotional. Inside the 9/11 museum, as you take the escalators down, the walls are the foundations of the twin towers. The museum is full of emotional artefacts and belongings from those who died during the terror attack. Everyone who worked in the museum was somehow affected or knew someone who was affected by this horrific attack.
Before heading for dinner we went shopping and visited Sephora. We went to Bubba Gump Restaurant which was my favourite restaurant we went to.
On our last day we wandered through Times Square which is overwhelming but so beautiful. In the afternoon we went up the Rockefeller Centre and watched over the view of New York, with the Empire State Building in our perfect line of view.
New York is an experience which you won’t forget and is a city full of inspiration.
